Case Study - Landscape and Ecology Surveys
The Wildlife Trust Consultancies, co-ordinated by EMEC Ecology, undertook landscape and ecology surveys of over 2000 areas of ‘Open Country’ across England, for Natural England.
The Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 normally gives a public right of access to land mapped as ‘open country’.
Our experienced team from our UK wide network of consultancies offer deep local knowledge of habitats, species and planning processes and were able to determine if particular parcels of land met criteria for ‘Open County’. This survey information was then used to inform the Countryside & Rights of Way Act access appeals procedure.
WTC have a wealth of expertise working with clients from all sectors and organisations.
